We are an organization of students from the University of Alaska Anchorage united for the cause of Human Rights in the Middle East. We stand in strong support of the state of Israel.
We support the state of Israel as one of the greatest defenders of Human Rights in the world. We desire to see peace in the Middle East, between Israel and her neighbors. But we also acknowledge that peace can not be attained if only one side is willing to pursue peace.
We consider it one of the greatest tragedies of our time that the Palestinian Authority has rather than pursued peace taught its younger generations to hate. We mourn the lives lost on both sides of the conflict but understand that Israel must protect her citizens.
We are committed to raising awareness about the violation of Human Rights in the Palestinian territories. Our goal is to bring attention to these violations by providing accurate information about conflicts and issues in the region.
Israel is not perfect by any means. But Israel does not bear responsibility for the majority of Human Rights violations in the Palestinian controlled territories. Israel is in a unique security situation. The state is surrounded by people committed to her utter destruction. These enemies use terror attacks to hurt Israeli civilians. In response Israel does all it can to prevent terror while protecting the Palestinian civilian population from harm.
Unfortunately, war and especially combat in civilian populated areas causes death and destruction. But we appreciate and ask you to join us in acknowledging the lengths Israel takes to protect all lives whether Palestinian or Israeli.
